Completed the 100% acquisition of German respiratory medical devices company Steag MicroParts GmbH, Dortmund.
Recommended and convinced the Boehringer Ingelheim Board against 3 other options and then completed without investment bank the acquisition of German medical devices company Steag MicroParts GmbH, Dortmund. This investment was a major milestone in the solidification of BI’s respiratory franchise by enabling to combine a proprietary inhalative nebulizer technology with Boehringer’s blockbuster asthma and COPD products (Combivent, Atrovent and especially Spiriva), subsequently directed the follow-on integration task-force to create the new entity BI MicroParts.
